Days until your wedding
Choose your wedding date and the calculator turns it into a live countdown from today. It shows the exact calendar days, a weeks-and-days breakdown, the selected date, and its weekday.
Updated
Enter your wedding date to see exactly how many whole calendar days remain until the day arrives.
Pick a valid date to start the countdown.
The countdown is measured from your device's local date today to the date you choose, in whole days.
How does it work?
Days are counted in whole calendar days using UTC, so the result is unaffected by time zones or daylight saving. A negative count means the date has already passed.
Days-until formula
- d
- Whole days between today and the target date.
- target
- The date you are counting down to.
- today
- The current date (your local today).
From 1 June to 1 July is 30 days.
Method & sources
We count whole calendar days from today to the date you choose. Both dates are handled in UTC so time zones and daylight saving never shift the result. You pick the target date yourself — the calculator does not look up holidays or official calendars.
How we calculate
- The count is whole days from today to the date you choose.
- Today is your device's local date; the target date is the one you pick.
- A negative count means the date has already passed.
- The day of the week shown is the weekday the target date falls on.
Rounding
The countdown is in whole calendar days. Today and the target date are counted in UTC, so time zones and daylight saving never shift the result.
What this countdown does
A wedding plan contains many deadlines, but this countdown has one clear target: the wedding date you enter. It measures whole calendar days from today, then shows the same interval as weeks and days and confirms the weekday. A future wedding gives a positive count, the wedding day gives 0, and a date in the past gives a negative number showing how long ago it was.
How to use it
- Pick the date you're counting down to.
- Read the days remaining at the top.
- Check the weeks-and-days breakdown and the weekday it falls on.
- Use Share to send the live countdown to anyone.
When it's useful
Use it as the shared clock behind a planning list. Weeks and days are easier to act on than a distant date when you need to schedule invitations, fittings, meetings, payments, travel, and final confirmations. The weekday also helps distinguish the ceremony date from nearby setup, rehearsal, travel, or recovery days.
How to read a wedding countdown
The headline is the number of whole calendar days until the selected date. It includes weekends and public holidays; it is not a count of working days or available planning days. The weeks-and-days panel expresses the same total as full seven-day weeks plus the remainder. The displayed date and weekday are a useful error check before you share the countdown — especially when venues or invitations use a written weekday as well as a number.
Plan backwards from the wedding date
Every wedding is different, so treat these as adjustable planning anchors rather than rules:
- About 9–12 months before: settle the broad format, budget, guest range, and the bookings whose availability shapes the date.
- About 4–6 months before: develop the guest list, invitations, clothing, travel, and the main practical choices with suppliers.
- About 1–2 months before: collect replies, confirm the running order, review agreements and payment dates, and identify decisions still open.
- During the final week: confirm final numbers and contacts, gather documents and payments, and leave only tasks that genuinely must happen late.
One wedding date, several earlier deadlines
The countdown does not track supplier deposits, reply dates, notice requirements, final guest numbers, or document appointments. Put those dates in a separate checklist and count to them individually when needed. For deadlines stated in working days, use the business-days calculator rather than subtracting calendar days. The wedding countdown should remain the overview; the agreements and official instructions remain the source of truth for each specific deadline.
Which date if the ceremony and celebration differ?
Use the date that represents the event you are currently planning. If the legal ceremony, religious ceremony, and reception happen on different days, one countdown cannot represent all three. Choose the main celebration for the shared countdown and keep the other dates in the plan, or create separate countdown links. After the wedding, the anniversary calculator is the better tool because it automatically finds the next yearly occurrence.
How the days are counted
The count is in whole calendar days from today to the date you pick, calculated in UTC so it never drifts with time zones or daylight saving. If the date has already passed, the count shows how many days ago it was.
FAQ
- How many days until my wedding?
- Choose the wedding date above. The first result shows the exact number of whole calendar days from today to that date.
- Does the wedding countdown include today?
- It measures the difference between today's date and the wedding date. A wedding today therefore shows 0 rather than 1.
- Are weekends included?
- Yes. It counts calendar days, including weekends and public holidays. Use the business-days calculator for a working-day deadline.
- Which date should I use if we have two ceremonies?
- Use the date of the event the countdown is meant to represent, usually the main celebration. Track the other ceremony separately.
- What happens after the wedding date?
- The result becomes negative and shows how many days ago the date was. Use the anniversary calculator for a countdown that repeats every year.
- Why does the weekday matter?
- It confirms the selected date and helps place setup, travel, rehearsal, and the surrounding weekend correctly.
- Can I share the countdown?
- Yes. Share copies a link that reopens the countdown to the same date, always counting from the viewer's today.
